Two Great White Sharks Found Amazingly in Mississippi River
A website “React365” published a photograph on 26th October 2016 supposedly showing two great white sharks near St. Louis in the Mississippi River. It is not entirely unbelievable, but it is not very common for salt water as dwelling creatures to stay in fresh water for a long period of time. But, two Great White Sharks were survived their trip and moved to a way up the Mississippi River. Some people assumed that it was a mating couple and the two swam the journey of at least 920 miles from the start of Mississippi River as it is attached to the Gulf of Mexico. We have found that showing Sharks in the photograph were not originally Great White Sharks and the published picture wasn’t showing location of near the St. Louis in Mississippi River.
Point to be noted that published photograph has been circulating since 2008 and it was originally posted to “Flickr” by adding a caption “Bull Shark” at the edge of Rio Sirena River. It was also amazing that Bull Sharks were found in the Sirena River because these creatures are most likely to be found in the Costa Rica’s Corcovado National Park. The story about Great White Sharks near St. Louis in the Mississippi River by “React365” allowed various other websites to generate convincing fake stories because its main page also indicated about this story as a Prank. It wasn’t the first time that this specific photograph generated another fake story. RFKD News also used the same picture in 2013 with a report that 6 people were eaten by River Sharks in Illinois after crashing their hot air balloons.
