The U.S President Donald Trump has promised American workers that he’s building a border wall in Colorado. It is important that the State is landlocked and hundreds of miles away from any foreign border. Trump delivered his words during a speech in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He delivered his comments in a conference on shale energy that he had made good on every promise, he made during the 2016 election. Trump asked the crowd, (referring to a southwest border state he lost by a healthy margin to Hillary Clinton in 2016)”You know why we’re going to win New Mexico? Because they want safety on their border and they didn’t have it. And we’re building a wall on the border of New Mexico”.
Trump added, “And we’re building a wall in Colorado. We’re building a beautiful wall. A big one that really works that you can’t get over, you can’t get under”. It is noteworthy that the entire southern border of Colorado touches up on New Mexico and Oklahoma, and sits hundreds of miles away from the U.S-Mexico border. Meanwhile, the U.S-Canada border is also hundreds of miles away to the north with at least 2 states between Colorado and the Great White North.
Trump also said in his speech, “And we’re building a wall in Texas”. He mentioned another U.S state without an international border. He said, “And we’re not building a wall in Kansas but they get the benefit of the walls that we just mentioned”. The United States shares a border with Mexico along with the states of California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas. The administration of Donald Trump has diverted funds from military projects across the country to build the promised wall. But, reports have indicated that much of the building has taken place the areas where border barriers already existed, but not along new or unprotected sections of the U.S border.
