Three Speakers Served During Impeachment of Bill Clinton
A popular Twitter account “@WillMcAvoyACN” published a reproduced tweet on 27th April 2016 and indicated that every Republican Speaker of the House showed involvement with the allegation of former U.S President Bill Clinton. Bill Clinton was felled by a sex scandal. The reproduced tweet was supposedly about the former Speaker of House Dennis Hastert. He was charged for sexually assaulting for at least four younger boys at the time when he was working as a wrestling coach. He was also convicted for structuring illegal bank accounts to pay off complainant. The New York Times published a profile on the fall of Hastert on 2nd May 2016 and pointed out that his appointment as Speaker was generated an increase in sex scandals.
An allegation against Hastert rose in the mid of 2015. The Chicago Tribune said that he was an “Accidental Speaker”. He was promoted from a junior position to the GOP leadership in the month of December 1998. It was the time when a newly nominated Republican Speaker Bob Livingston of Louisiana was found involved in extramarital affairs and it turned down him from post. Gingrich also resigned from his post in the month of November 1998. The allegation on the former U.S President Bill Clinton was considered too complicated as sex scandals were badly affected the leadership of the House at the same time. We found that three politicians Bob Livingston, Dennis Hastert and Newt Gingrich served as the Speaker of House during the time of impeachment of President Bill Clinton.
