Six Years Old Happy Meal Found, Served by McDonalds
A Facebook user Jennifer Lovdahl published the reproduced status by adding two images on 3rd February 2016 indicating expired Happy Meal of McDonald with the following comment that “a receipt attached to a Happy Meal box showing that it was purchased on 8th January 2010. The allegation of Lovdahi was assumingly indicating about disintegrating quality of the food and this meme shared by a large number of users on the Facebook. The post claimed that food at McDonalds didn’t decompose and it has been circulating online for the last couple of years. In the month of September 2008, a post indicated that cheeseburger at McDonalds purchased in the year 1996.
This event also experienced in 2014 by Buzzfeed, by adding video for seven fast-food burgers that were stored for 30 days in glass jars. In the same year when Lovdahi supposedly purchased Happy Meal from McDonalds, on 15th October 2010, a food blog updated an article with a title “Serious Eats” regarding The Myth of The 12 years old Hamburger served by McDonalds. We also investigated and found that food items normally dry out very quickly and don’t decompose under some specific conditions and with the involvement of some organic matters. But, it is not true that only the menu items of McDonalds “don’t rot”. It is important that most of the food items of McDonalds never rots under any kind of conditions. Some specific chemicals are being used in the food items of McDonalds that prevents to break down for a number of years.
