Scary Movies Can Burn More Calories & Decrease the Risk of Fatness
A number of social networks are still pulsating about a medical study of 2012 purportedly showing that most of the adults burn many calories during watching horror & scary movies and those burned calories are equal to a walk of 30-minutes. Some have predicted that watching scary movies can reduce the risk of fatness. Is there any kind of truth in these claims? Is there a perfect weight-loss technique of watching scary movies? A report of The Telegraph on 28th October 2012 indicated that the mentioned study was settled by the UK movie rental service “Love Film” and it was presented just before the spooky holiday with a clear objective of boosting video sales.
Point to be noted that the purported study wasn’t reviewed or published or planned to be publish. The research study was presented by a medical institution the University of Westminster in London. This research study was supervised by Dr. Richard Mackenzie, a specialist of cell metabolism & physiology. The Telegraph explained his methodology and indicated that two things to be considered, first one is a small size of sample size with just 10 people and second is the narrow scope of the study because the study just measured the metabolism of participants in a real time, but they didn’t track their original weight loss over an extended period of time to compare the perfectness of weight-loss methods. It is important that total amount of calories purportedly burned during watching scary movies was not large or impressive amount of size.
