President Trump has criticized the US Federal Board of Investigation
US President Donald Trump has criticized the FBI for not supporting his alleged claims regarding 2020 election fraud. He also complained that some have served many presidents and he was disappointed that they have not ‘Nabbed’ anyone. President Trump said, “Why isn’t the FBI all over the place? They are not. They are not, and it’s a terrible thing”. He informed Fox News presenter Maria Bartiromo that he felt the FBI was ‘Missing in action’. Trump added, “Can’t tell you where they are. I ask if they are looking at it, everyone says yes they are”. He also speculated that some within the FBI were working against him. President said, “I know FBI and it’s great at the level we talk about. It’s inconceivable. You’d think this is the biggest thing they could look at”.
President Trump added, “They just move on. They’ve been there a long time. Some have served many presidents. All I can say is, no one has come to me and said the FBI has nabbed. The FBI is looking at Dominion”. Point to be noted that Trump has a particularly contentious relationship with the current FBI Chief Christopher Wray, who he appointed to replace James Comey in June 2017. President at the time called Wray ‘an impeccably qualified individual’. Trump issued a statement and said, “I know that he will again serve his country as a fierce guardian of the law and model of integrity once the Senate confirms him to lead the FBI”. But, he has now shown anger against the fierce independence of Wray and his rejection to do Trump’s bidding.
The White House chief of staff, Mark Meadows has also sharply criticized Wray in internal discussions. Theodore Olson and Ben Ginsberg are respected Republican legal minds among those who successfully served as George W Bush’s lawyers during the Florida recount. They also urged President Trump to abandon his wild claims of the alleged fraud. Both pointed out that they didn’t find any evidence. Trump’s then-lawyer Sidney Powell was removed from the legal team, meaning it is now only Rudy Giuliani and Jenna Ellis. Both are hopeful that the US Supreme Court will take up their case after a Pennsylvania judge delivered a damning dismissal of their efforts. Trump claimed they had hundreds of thousands of votes in every swing state which should have been counted for him. He also claimed that thousands of dead people had voted.
