Leaks suggested Apple could launch AR/VR Headset at WWDC
Various rumors and leaks have suggested Apple’s mixed reality headset in the past couple of years. Some of the previous reports pointed out that Apple is still experiencing and managing many issues which caused unexpected delays. However, a recent trade secret has predicted that Apple is now planning to launch the mixed reality headset in a few days at WWDC.
A most famous leaker suggested Apple is seeking to release its first smart glasses at the show. He was referring to some latest reports from other rumors. However, most market experts believe that mixed reality glasses are expected to hit the market in 2023. Most leaks suggested that “RealityOS” is the supposed name of the upcoming operating system.
New OS will power Apple’s AR & VR
The new supposed operating system will power Apple’s AR (augmented reality) and VR (virtual reality) experiences. Moreover, the 1st-Generation smart glasses are supposed an MR (mixed reality) or XR (extended reality) device. Experts believe the company is looking to combine AR and VR features in its new device.
The focus is supposedly on the VR and expecting not getting a glasses-like device. The company is seeking to present a design similar to currently available VR-only gaming solutions from Sony, Meta, and HTC. Most people are still finding the features of the RealityOS and its appearance for WWDC 2022.
Apple hasn’t yet confirmed the RealityOS Label
However, Apple hasn’t yet confirmed the RealityOS label. But it eventually moves in with the OS naming schemes of the company like watchOS, macOS, tvOS, iOS, and iPadOS. Some reports appeared over the weekend suggesting Apple has filed a trademark for RealityOS by one of its partners. It clearly indicates the company has prepared for the launch of the MR (mixed reality) headset.
The recent leaks also suggested that Apple will present a demo or introduction of RealityOS next Monday at WWDC 2022. It is noteworthy that Apple has earlier presented brand new items. This makes sense for Apple that the launch of a mixed reality headset could take place months before the sales start. It could provide a significant time for the company to boost its marketing strategy.
Developers could create apps for RealityOS
Meanwhile, developers will have considerable time to accommodate their apps to RealityOS experiences. Most of the developers could create a new mechanism for the upcoming smart glasses. However, Apple hasn’t yet said that it will announce the new headset next week at the WWDC event.
Moreover, Mark Gurman of Bloomberg pointed out a report describing his expectations for the show as RealityOS trademark news surfaced. The mixed reality headset of Apple is full steam ahead and pointing to that Apple board has received a presentation. Gurman said there is a big landmark in the development process of an unidentified product.
The earlier prediction from Ming-Chi Kuo
Gurman also said he is also expecting a massive presentation next week for consumers and developers. However, a famous insider Ming-Chi Kuo also found correct regarding unreleased devices from Apple. He went on Twitter and mentioned mixed reality headsets from the company. Kuo said Apple will not present the glasses next week at WWDC because it is still in the development process.
Kuo also speculated that Apple isn’t considering launching RealityOS at the event. The worldwide rivals of Apple aren’t waiting to experience the OS design and hardware specs for AR or MR headsets. Its competitors will supposedly kick off replica projects and copy remarkable ideas of Apple. They can hit the market before the launch of Apple in 2023.
