Inserting a Special Character
A Special Character feature of Google Docs enables users to insert arrows, emojis, symbols, and others. This unique feature also gives accent-marked added letters. You should go to your selected point in your document to add the accent to the letter and get an accented letter.
Go to Insert and select Special Characters from the offered menu. Then, enter the letter in the Search box after the appearance of a window. You can also draw it with its accent that appeared below the Search box.
Users can move their cursor over the results on the left side to see more helpful and efficient larger versions. It will pop into your document when you select to use your targeted letter.
Keyboard Shortcut to insert Accent Letter
The users of Google Docs can type a keyboard shortcut for their accented letters using Windows or Mac computer. You must type the first shortcut rapidly followed by the second, to use these combination shortcuts on a Mac computer.
If you type the capital letter O with its accent, hold the Option + E at the same time and immediately release both keys. Then, hold the Shift + O keys together and release both keys.
Use Google Input Tools to copy Accented Letters
Google Input Tools offers an efficient solution for typing accent marks on letters. It would enable users to select the letter they need and copy it into Google Docs. It will need to enter and copy words, paragraphs, or phrases.
Google Chrome users just need to install the extension for Google Input Tools. Go to Google Input Tools and select a keyboard language from the list at the left side of the input box.
Type your text such as a word, letter, phrase, or sentence. Right-click the text and select, ‘Copy’ to put it on your clipboard. Go to Google Docs and right-click on your desired point and select Paste.
Get Accented Letters with Your Computer’s Tools
Your computer can allow you to use built-in tools to type accented marked letters. But it just depends on your platform. You can use the Character Map for this purpose.
Windows users first go to the Start button and expand the Windows Accessories box, and then select Character Map. Move the Character Map opened the app to use it in Google Docs.
Find your desired letter and then choose the Select option to place it in Character to Copy and paste into your documents.
Google Docs Add-On for Accented Letters
Google Docs add-on (Easy Accents) is a free option used for typing accent marks on letters. Go to your document in Google Docs after installing the add-on.
Click the Add-Ons option in the menu and move to Easy Accents – Docs. Then pick Easy Accents – Start. Pick your desired language for accented letters in the drop-down box at the top, from the right side, opened sidebar.
You will experience your options transformed into buttons. Click a button to add a lowercase letter and hold the Shift button to add the uppercase letter. You can also switch languages from the drop-down box in the sidebar.
