On Sunday, Trump administration warned that it was deeply monitoring the movements of a caravan of Central American asylum finders headed to the United States. It was said that more than 7 thousand people and members of the group have entered the U.S. The U.S Secretary of State Mike Pompeo blamed migrants are violating because of traveling with the caravan. He said that they are violating the U.S sovereignty, laws and procedures of Guatemala and Mexico after leaving these countries and moving towards the U.S-Mexico border. He also stressed that Trump said the United States will not allow any illegal immigrant to enter the country.
Pompeo claimed that the Trump administration is deeply concerned about the violence initiated from some members of the caravan. Most noteworthy, the asylum seekers are traveling with the caravan. They have had a number of confrontations with police in Mexico and Guatemala. Thousands of asylum seekers were confronted on Friday from Mexican police because they were trying to cross a bridge leading to the North American country. Members of the caravan tried to push through or climb over steel gate. Police used tear gas and smoke canisters to push them back.
The government of Mexico earlier said that it would allow anyone with an approved visa to enter the country. The authorities of Mexico and Guatemala have made efforts to bring asylum seekers into their countries. These measures were taken because the U.S President and Trump administration pressurized to stop the caravan from their progressive move toward the United States. Pompeo said in his statement, “We understand Mexico will detain and repatriate migrants who enter Mexico in violation of Mexican law”. Moreover, migrants traveling with the caravan have blasted Trump and his administration over their repeated attempts to pressure countries to stop the 7,000-strong caravan from making its way to the United States.
