President Trump will not consider bringing back William Barr
US President Donald Trump has refused to bring back attorney general William Barr after securing a second term. He supposedly failed to throw his support behind Barr after the Justice Department found no wrongdoing in disclosing Trump’s much-hyped investigation. President informed in a Newsmax interview with Greg Kelly and said, “I have no comment. Can’t comment on that. It’s too early. I’m not happy with all of the evidence I have, I can tell you that. I’m not happy”. Point to be noted that the US Attorney John Bash reportedly found no evidence of wrongdoing in Barack Obama’s administration disclosing the names of Trump campaign members caught up in the Russia probe.
President Trump informed Kelly and said, “Personally, I think it’s ridiculous. It’s ridiculous. It’s a disgrace”. He added, “I think it’s really a horrible thing that they’re allowed to get away, when they say no indictments, they actually said no indictments before the election. I had to go through elections with all those clouds over my head. But they don’t because the Republicans are so nice. Personally, I think it’s too bad. I think it’s too bad, they’re guilty as hell”. It is noteworthy that the US attorney for Connecticut John Durham is investigating the origins of the Russian investigation into Trump. But, his findings are not expected to be released before the 2020 election.
The US Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin has admitted that another coronavirus aid package is unlikely to pass before Election Day. There are millions of out-of-work Americans await extended unemployment relief 8 months after the onset of the pandemic and economic fallout. On Wednesday, Mnuchin attended the Milken Institute Global Conference and said, “At this point getting something done before the election and executing on that would be difficult. That’s definitely an issue. But the president is very focused on when he wins we will need to do more. So that’s part of the reason to continue to work on this. The clock will not stop”.
