President Trump alleged Antifa for wildfire in spite of rejecting claim from Local Authorities
US President Donald Trump retweeted claims that far-left Antifa arsonists were responsible. He said in an apparent endorsement of a far-right conspiracy theory about wildfires on the West Coast. It follows rumors spread by supporters of the far-right QAnon movement blaming far-left Antifa members for deliberately causing devastating wildfires seen during the current month. On Wednesday, President Trump appeared to endorse the claim with a video shared, in spite of the FBI and local police forces denouncing those theories this week. Point to be noted that the 32-second clip showed the Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden speaking in Delaware earlier this week.
It is noteworthy that graphics depicting so-called Antifa activists blow-torched the grassland behind him. There were 2 animated “Antifa” men wearing helmets with the main “Antifascist action” logo. It was recognizable by its red and black flags. An animated blaze then burns in the background, as Biden addresses the climate crisis and wildfires across Washington, Oregon, and California. Democratic presidential election nominee Biden said, “Trump’s climate denial may have not caused these fires, but if he gets a second term, these hellish events will continue to become more devastating”. The alleged video ends with him asking “Do you know what is actually threatening our suburbs”.
Joe Biden’s voice is drowned out by sound effects. An “Antifaschistische Aktie” logo then appears in an apparent reference to the Communist militant organization that operated in Weimar Germany. The video ends with a message and said, “You just have to look it up, Biden”. Authorities have been inundated with calls about those claims with the Sheriff’s Office in Douglas County, Oregon. They warned that Rumors spread just like wildfire. The office issued a statement and said dispatchers had been overrun with requests for information and inquiries on an UNTRUE rumor that 6 Antifa members have been arrested for setting fires in the area. The post also confirmed that this is not true.
