Another round of sanctions has been issued by the U.S Department of Treasury against a number of Russian groups and individuals. The new sanctions will be imposed against companies that are managed by or have offered support to FSB (Federal Security Service) of Russia, including some elements owned by or have performed the action on behalf of those who allegedly supported the Russian FSB. The U.S Treasury Department has issued new sanctions against 5 groups and 3 individuals. The Secretary of the Department, Steve Mnuchin said in a statement that the United States is committed to an ongoing effort countering evil-minded elements working at the directions of Russian Federation. These alleged elements are working for their military and intelligence units to enhance offensive cyber capabilities of Russia. These entities directly participated in improving cyber and underwater capabilities of Russia. They work with the FSB and threatened the security & safety of the United States and its allies.

The U.S Treasury Department said that new sanctions have been issued due to their work, including the NotPetya cyber-attack. The attack was against the U.S energy grid and hacking the devices infrastructure network, such as switches and routers. The U.S officials said that Russian government has been monitoring communication cables under the water. New sanctions were imposed against firms including, Digital Security, Embedi, ERPScan, Divetechno services, and Kvant Scientific Research Institute. The Department of Treasury also imposed sanctions against 3 individuals connected to Divetechno services including, Oleg Chirikov, Vladimir Kaganskiy, and Aleksandr Tribun. Any type of property belonging to these elements will be blocked according to the U.S Jurisdiction. So, the U.S citizens will no longer be able in making transactions with these alleged companies and individuals. It is important that the U.S Treasury Department imposed sanctions in March against 5 Russian groups and 19 Russian individuals.
